Located in the MGM grand, this stylish restaurant features authentic Chinese, Shanghainese, and Cantonese dishes. Specialties include shark's fin, Asian bouillabaisse, lobster spring roll, and whole lobster. Tasting menus are available, and fine Chinese tea selections are prepared tableside. Four of us were looking forward to a great dinner and we started off very disapointed but ended up leaving laughing. We were seated and handed our menus with very little conversation from the person seating us. We started reading the "specials" menu and realized that it was the desert menu, when we were finally able to get the attention of one of the wait staff we said something and we were told yes that was the specials menu over and over until we read the items on the menu to him. The soups were ok... nothing real special. The main course was excellent in taste, presentation, and quantity. I would not rule this restaurant



out in the future because the main course was awesome eventhough there was no "service". We were not sure who was who when it can to the wait staff, we ordered drinks from one person and within a few minutes the next person came up and asked us if we would like to order drinks. All of us felt that this restaurant had a strong chef that needs a stronger front of house staff! But I have saved the best for last... we did take a few leftovers with us and when they brought the boxed leftovers to the table they were in a Starbucks paper bag!!! Here we are paying $200+ for a dinner for 4 and they bring out the to go boxes in a Starbucks bag and they do not serve Starbucks. This became a running joke for the rest of the trip. We did see bags on other tables with the Pearl logo on them... so they do have their own bags..just not for us. - Randy, 03/12/2009
