I agree! I too grew up in NLV and I keep looking for this recipe! Wasn't it the best? I've never seen anything like it. I have trouble even remembering what was in it. I remember the chili and I thought it had corn tortillas and I know it had green onions. But other than that, I can't remember but I remember how good it was. - bfarmer5@cox.net, 01/29/2011
I too grew up near Hilda's down on Judson..My family frequented their often and my dad new Hilda well. It was sad when she closed down several years ago to retire, and she passed away last month..Very sad, she was one of the finest people and best cooks in my life's memories. I was raised down the street from Hilda's. I am now 51 and have lived all over the USA including California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas. The only place that has ever come close to having mexican food any better was the old Maverick Club years ago on Las Vegas Blvd N. & Owens, when Mama Delores was alive. Hildas' food is great, friendly atmosphere & decent prices. Try the Gordito! I think Hilda had to invent it! MMMMMMM good! - dancingpaws, 07/27/2007
