Located in Monte Carlo, leather booths, carved dark wood, and stained glass windows create a luxurious and relaxing atmosphere beyond the hubbub of the casino floor. Gourmet food and white-glove service begins with a basket of warm, freshly baked bread. An extensive hot and cold appetizer menu includes Oysters Rockefeller with a hollandaise sauce glaze and topped with creamed spinach and a bit of Pernod, as well as southern grilled shrimp prepared with Cajun spice and accompanied by a brandy-molasses sauce. Entrees include poached or grilled salmon filet, served with fresh lemon, butter, and a cucumber dill sauce; braised swordfish steak with green peppercorn sauce, served on grilled polenta medallions and accompanied by a sauteed vegetable medley; and of course a wide array of the finest steaks around. A la carte desserts include tiramisu, creme brule, and heavenly cheesecake. Blackstone's Steak House is open nightly 5 pm-10:30 pm; reservations recommended. - Alotta, 09/12/2006
