Every meal at this soul-food eatery is made from scratch by a cheerful and enthusiastic staff, and the half-hour wait is well worth it. As the name suggests, chicken and waffles are the house specialty and are available in an amazing number of combinations such as a Southern-fried quarter chicken, two thick waffles, two scrambled eggs, and a side of grits for $9.95. Fish platters are available for $10.95 and include two large pan-fried cornmeal-crusted fillets. Side dishes (mostly in the $2.75-$4 range) include candied sweet potatoes, mac and cheese, and red beans and rice. Top it off with dessert such as red velvet cake for $3. Ate chicken and waffles, together, for the first time --- yesterday at Lo-Lo's. I'll be going back! It was VERY crowded, but they accomidated those waiting by having them wait in their air conditioned cars. (a good idea since the place is soooo tiny) I would recommend the place to anyone! Actually wish something like that would open up by us, in Goodyear!! Oh, and the waitstaff, like the food, was great! - Annemarie Hale, 06/21/2007
