I love the place. Went there for the first time last Saturday for breakfast. The hash is great. Corn pankcakes good but not quite as good as Maria's on Franklin. Great ambience, friedly wait help, good coffee, and good prices. Going back for lunch soon. - Phil Ward, 08/24/2006

This last weekend I was looking for a restaurant that did not offered the usual fare. Searching the Internet, I stumbled unto Victor's 1959 Cafe, and decided to try it out. My wife and I love Cuban food, Miami is one of our favorite destination and Cuban food has a lot to do with it. The worst Cuban restaurant in Miami is a step above Victors 1959. The service was slow and the place is extremely loud. What about the food, you ask? I ordered the ropa vieja with black beans and white rice. My wife ordered the roasted chicken with the same side dishes. My ropa vieja was tough, I could hardly chew through it. The rice was OK, but the beans were definetly canned. My wife was pleased with ther chicken, but she had the same issues with the beans. We had some Cuban coffe and passed on desert. I think that will hold my Cuban food cravings until I return to Miami. - JoeM, 01/26/2006
