Conveniently located on Cedar Avenue on the West Bank, with plenty of off-street parking. Tam-Tam's offers a selection of dishes from West Africa, Horn of Africa, Eastern and Central Africa; there is something for most everyone. Vegetarians will delight in the lentil sambosas, vegetable pies, collard greens, sukuma beans, or the Eland's Supper, which provides one vegetable sambosa, one vegetable pie and a vegetable platter for $13.99. If you eat meat, the Loin's Feast is a remarkable deal for two; $30.99 will get you two of Tam-Tam's delicious beef sambosas (addictive on their own!), two Tambo chicken pies, Tam-Tam's stew (get the goat - it is the best you will eat!) and a Flintstones-like "Hunter's Rib"... 24 ounces of perfectly seasoned and grilled beef rib which you sever from the bone in chunks. It is served with your choice of bread; choose from injeera, chapatti, or ugali dumplings. If you like spicy pepper sauce, you absolutely must request the house hot sauce. - Rana C, 09/26/2006
If you like exotic yet delicious food that is extremely affordable served in a warm, friendly, atmosphere with great ambience, you must try this restaurant. I have been back many times and each time I am captivated by the various items I try. The tilapia, palm butter, and tam tam stews are amazing. I also always order beef samosas to go. Their wine list might not be extensive but what they have is very, very good. This place is a must try. - Flora, 05/21/2007
Absolutely excellent and authentic cuisine. Very friendly atmosphere. Clean and inviting. I recommend the Sukuma Beans and the Chipati. Check out the Lunch Specials. - Catherine, 03/13/2007
Good restaurant. Good ambiance, service, and food. Almost never busy, which is a shame! - Luke, 01/13/2007
