The Flame is the quintessential crappy diner. The waitstaff is harried, overworked, underpaid, and always tired. It's clean enough to be legal, but not much cleaner. And yet they have a regular and loyal customer base -- and it's all because of the food. The ranch breakfast is more than you can (or at least should) eat. The burgers are generous and well prepared. Couple that with that the low prices, and you've got no reason not to tip the chef too. - Ry4an, 11/07/2000
