Main festival events are held free of charge at Peavy Plaza, an outdoor venue centrally located in downtown Minneapolis and convenient to hotels and other attractions. Other performances take place in area clubs and restaurants. Recently partnered with the Festival, Hilde Performance Center in Plymouth, MN will offer additional performances. Other events include Jazz Night Out, a jazz club crawl via trolley. - Alotta, 02/08/2005
The Twin Cities Hot Summer Jazz Festival is fast becoming one of the largest civic events in the upper Midwest, attracting upwards of 75,000 people. The main event of the festival is held at Peavey Plaza, a beautiful outdoor amphitheater in the center of downtown Minneapolis located within two blocks the convention center and five major hotels. The festival closes several blocks and utilizes clubs, restaurants and the Millennium Hotel bar for additional stages. The City of St. Paul has recently partnered with the festival for additional performances at Mears Park, located in the heart of the Lowertown neighborhood. Parnterships have also occured with the Artists Quarter for additional stages . - wm, 04/15/2007
