Lyon's pub is one of the last authentic restaurants in downtown. The food is consistntly excellent (try to find a better Philly Cheesesteak anywhere, including Philly), they still free-pour cocktails, and they not only let you smoke cigars but will sell you one if you forgot yours back at the office. Bottom line is there is no Corporate or Politically Correct garbage here, this is a real bar/restaurant the way it should be. - a former new yorker, 03/27/2003
I had lunch at Lyon's Pub today (2/28) with a friend. We both ordered burgers and fries. The burgers were served to us warm, not hot and were much smaller than
the bun. The fries were served cold. When we asked the waitress for hot fries she acted like it was a chore to bring them to us. We did get hot fries, but in a basket and much less than had been on our two plates. Our server would quickly put what she was bringing to us down on the table and then be gone before you could say thanks or ask for something else you may need. Needless to say, for our first visit to Lyon's Pub, neither of us were impressed. I have a feeling that there are plenty of other places in downtown Minneapolis that serve good burgers at lunch time and you get service with a smile. - Gwen Inskeep, 02/28/2003
Lyon's has gone down hill fast. Up until recently, I have always enjoyed going to Lyon's for lunch and happy hour. I gave Lyon's multiple opportunities to change my mind. The last 4 visits we had: a rude unfriendly host, servers that forget about you and your party, management that does not offer an apology when we brought
up the issue with the rude host, and seating other parties that arrived after we did. Overall, it does not appear that Lyon's cares about there customers. - Fed up with Lyon's, 02/22/2002
