Liquor Lyle's is a Minneapolis classic. I lived very near there years ago, and it has hardly changed to this day...other than the Minneapolis/Hennepin County smoking ban, which (IMHO) has changed it for the worse. Cheap drink specials, 2 (or 3?) happy hours, and very bar-like bar food to start with, and a fascinating mix of people to watch/chat with keep this place going strong. I've been in Lyle's and seen people in tuxedos standing next to punkers with real mohawks and plenty of safety pins holding their clothes together.
