Built in 1901, & seats 2400. This is one of 16 Basilicas in the U.S and it features one of the top five largest domes in the world.The basilica was built using 200,000 tons of stonework which was salvaged from Chicago's Federal Building, which was torn down in 1895. - sys, 12/26/1999
