Built in 1972 this plaza features a 12 ton, 28 ft. tall bronze abstract sculpture. - sys, 12/26/1999
I happen to work in this building (the one on the left in the second picture, or Investment Building). I grew up in Milwaukee and always wondered what was going on in the 'upside down wedding cake,' as the building to the right is called (formally known as the Headquarters Building). But I didn't realize until I started working here just how popular the outdoor area, or MGIC Plaza, is for many people working downtown. These pictures don't do the area justice. In the summer it is loaded with picnic tables and immaculately landscaped. On the other side of the buildings is a porch overlooking Milwaukee's downtown ice rink (which in the summer is like a small park). It may just look like another office building, but it's actually quite a sight. I also believe that the building was designed by the same architect who designed the Hancock Tower in Chicago, but I could be wrong. - anonymous, 06/29/2001
