Short and simple--you have good steaks and good service, and I'm glad that you carry blackberry Arbor Mist! - Kerri and Joey, 12/20/2003

My goodness. where was our party at? we were at the layton ave. prime quarter and our dining experience was excellent. our wait staff was attentive, pleasant & helpful. we were there a friday, may of 2003 for our daughter's birthday dinner, i loved it. we left smiling, full & feeling more than comfortable about the whole experience. we did grill our own steaks & such...i hope to return & will recommend prime quarter to friends & family. - j. powles, 06/02/2003

The service and hospitality on Saturday night 2-8-03 was extra bad! We were treated injustly and will never return to this restaurant again! Our employee dinner was the most terrible expierence that we have ever encountered! We have never ever been so offended at any restaurant. We had to pay for our own soda and we were never even offered coffee with our meals. The waitresses were inattentive and rude. We had 2 waitresses but we only knew the name of one. Tammy was rolling her eyes and snapping at us when we asked her a question. The other waitress seemed to treat us as though we 'bothered' her when we went to look for her to ask her questions. The steaks were cooked so well done, that they were like eating leather! This was to be a joyous type thank you dinner for our employees yet it was a nightmare. We have been there before and it was never like this. This is the last time that anyone from here will ever patronize your establishment! - A-1Recycling, 02/10/2003

I visited the Madison location many years ago, and have been telling friends about the experience ever since. The steaks (beef and fish) were enormous, and of some of the highest quality I've ever seen. The flavor and tenderness was impressive, and the cooking facility was spacious -- I never found myself bumping elbows with another patron at the grill. The grill itself is a marvel to behold; a monstrous, brick-walled number, splendidly hot and smoky, lined with bottles of seasonings to cater to almost any taste. For me, garlic and black pepper sufficed for such a grand piece of beef, but there were other options for more adventurous palates. A sophisticated grill vent protected the restaurant (and the erstwhile amateur chefs) from smoke inhalation. The portions were enormous, and of course, they are known for The Beefeater: 64 ounces of beefy goodness that qualifies you for a free (regular size) steak if you can finish it within a given time frame. Their lobby is adorned with photographs of the successful; a motley lot of every shape and size. After indicating which cut of beef, chicken or fish selected, the diner is presented with a baked potato of impressive proportions, and welcomed to visit the fixins bar, which is on a scale with the size of the steaks and the potato itself. Then the diner progresses toward the refrigerated cases, and selects the slab of beast that tickles his or her fancy. Should Prime Quarter have offered us a cot, we would have gladly accepted it, as a healthy food coma set in afterward, so sadly I have no recommendations for dessert. Except maybe a pillow and blanket. - Jood, 07/17/2001

We were at your restaurant on Layton on Friday March 31, 2001. We were there for diner for two. We were asked to be seated in the bar for 20 minutes until 5:00 when diner is served. We sat at the bar and had a few drinks which the three bartenders were putting on our dinner tab. We sat for two hours until we asked the bartenders why we are not seated yet. They brought a waitress to us. We asked her why we are not seated, we told her we where unhappy and do not want to be seated anymore we just want our bill. She began crying and went to get her manager.(Debbie ?) She came to us in the bar area with an atitude asking us why we didnt go back and check in again. We told her we were being patient due to the amount of people still waiting in the bar area. She was very rude to us and didnt try to amend the situation. It ended up worst then it should have been. We ended up yelling at each other which got a man at the bar involved and we left to avoid confrontation. We unsually have good service the couple of times we have been in this restaurant to include a retirement party. We did not expect this immature service. We do not intend to return and we will tell others of our experience. That nite from home we tried to call to speak with someone over the manager but she got on the phone and was very rude again. We are very sorry to not be returning since we did love the food and layout of your establishment. - Mr. & Mrs. Randy Rouse, 04/02/2001

My husband and I went to the Prime Quarter on Layton Ave on November 18,2000 with our friends for our wedding anniversary and we all had the worse meal we have ever eaten. It was our first and last time eating their the steaks we had were cold we had your cooks grill them for us they were tasteless it was a terrible experience. It was the worse $70.00 meal we ever paid for. Katie Lemke 2738 E College Ave Cudahy Wi 53110 - Lemke2738@aol.com, 11/19/2000
