Open for over 30 years, the house specialty is a humongous phyllo dough pastry with different fillings, called burek. Sarma, stuffed pork-and-rice cabbage, is excellent, and the roasted red pepper salad is a must. Great lunch deal for the budget-minded. - sys, 11/09/2002

the food was very good - Yusuf, 12/18/2004
Simply the best restaurant in the world, for many reasons. We had our wedding reception here, and were treated like kings even though we could only afford to pay like graduate students. The absolutely amazing service (not a single flaw during our reception--and many were amazed) perfectly accentuates the food. Many of our guests still tell us that they had the best meal of their lives at our wedding. My wife and I go often for lunch (which is not expensive at all), and sometimes for dinner. I alway eat the lamb, but my wife has enjoyed several other dishes. I also marvel at the quality of the side dishes--not just a throw away like at other restaurants (they do some amazing thing to the potatoes and vegitables--I can't even comprehend how they make the food so good). You will wish you had an extra stomache, especially once you've tried the strudel or other desserts. I also highly recommend the house red wine (Dalmation). Anyone visiting Milwaukee should definately eat at the Old Town--and I'm not kidding when I say that it might be worth a trip to Milwaukee in and of itself. - Doug & Alice, 09/27/2001
The ONLY perfect '10' restaurant meal I have ever eaten was at Old Town. The Goulash was perfectly presented in a huge, tire-sized, plate/bowl, the beef was tender but was not falling apart (hard to do), the vegetables were perfectly matched to the beef, and the serving was served very warm. I could not talk while dining, the food was too good! We go back every summer and I have the same thing. - JHerry Zelesnikar, 03/29/2001
