I just recently ate at Nanakusa for the first time. It was great! By far one of the top sushi places in Milwaukee. I think that Nanakusa actually is in first place for me for Milwaukee sushi. Having had sushi all over the world I think that Milwaukee could do a better job of getting some quality places. In the mean time Nanakusa is by far the best, prices are reasonable and comparable to area restaurants. Our waitress was good, but not on the friendly side. Atmosphere was cozy and warm and perfect for a date or just dinner with a friend. Nanakusa keep up the great work! - Annie, 11/22/2006
This is by far the best sushi I've ever had, and I've enjoyed it on both the east and west coasts, in Jamaica and in other U.S. cities. It is unbelievably fresh, the textures are perfect, and the presentation and atmosphere of the restaurant remind me of what one might find in an upscale L.A. or San Francisco restaurant. Richard, Nanakusa's owner, is ever the gentleman and a true sushi connoisseur. The staff at Nanakusa is also second to none. The hostess and servers always remember us, our favorite drinks, our kids and our favorite menu items. It's like being welcomed by family to go enjoy a meal there. I recommend it above all other sushi spots anywhere in the Midwest. - Amy in Tosa, 09/03/2004
I have been three times and find the food not consistent. The chef seems to have license to change his offering at times. Therefore every trip can be a surprise. The restaurant is also on the expensive side compared to it's equivalent competition. - Robin Taylor, 06/06/2003
I enjoyed my dining experience at Nanakusa- except for two issues. a) Some of the food item costs were extremely high for the quality received. b) Although our waitress was very friendly, some of the staff seemed dismissive. - adele woytak ryandel@cs.com, 02/28/2003
Just an FYI, they are no longer open on Mondays. - J Fizzle, 12/30/2002
