Whiskey Bar Milwaukee is the new bar in Milwaukee's downtown Cathedral Square neighborhood on the corner of Jackson and Wells. I visited the restaurant on the Saturday of Bastille Days and the service was good for a new establishment and after a few quick glances around the not half filled bar I think I was the only one drinking a form of whiskey. There is a decent sized patio and a nice leather chair dominated interior and a printed drink menu on each table. For a bar with Whiskey in the name the drink menu starts off with a wine list that transitions to a beer list then martinis/specialty drinks (some of which actually feature whiskey) and then the list of whiskeys, scotches, and bourbons. There is a decent selection of Whiskey and Scotch and a very light Bourbon selection. I didn't notice any libations that you can't find at any upscale Milwaukee area bar/restaurant but the selection is thinner then you'll find at any of the high-end steakhouses. - norm, 12/14/2009
