Detail for Trinity Three Irish Pubs : Irish / Foys
[an error occurred while processing this directive]
Trinity (located in the building constructed to house Brew City BBQ after it moved from the location now housing Bar Louie) has Irish dcor throughout the three bars and Irish names but is far from Irish. While having a 80/90s cover bands playing on the weekends without a cover charge makes for good entertainment it does not add much authenticity to a supposedly Irish themed bar (unless having Guinness on tap and a wall of Jameson bottles qualifies a place as Irish in your book). Trinity has a decent selection of whiskeys and scotches for being a Water St bar but they don't seem terribly popular and I normally have to point in the general direction of the bottle when the bartender gives me a quizzical look after ordering a Macallan neat. I've never heard any complaints about Trinity's food...although I think I've only had their nachos on three or four occasions and the grilled vegetable and hummus platter. The Trinity Irish nachos aren't served on what they call "Trinity Chips" which are fried potatoes that are
softer then traditional nacho chips, cheddar cheese, corned beef, and a thousand island sauce round out the dish. - norm, 04/14/2010
