Hector's is a hole in the wall, very shabby, just a bar with a back room in which to to chow. The floor was downright scuzzy when we went, though it was near closing time. However, there's a very eclectic little Tex-mex menu here, and good vegetarian options. I ordered under "Hector's Favorites" on the menu and I suggest anyone else do the same and you should be pleased. Stay away from the eggplant dishes as they are flavorless and mushy. The artichoke enchiladas were a better choice for vegetarians. There is a yummy marinated pork dish, PUERCO EN ADOBO, that the waitress suggested for us meat eaters... outstanding and very filling. Great use of garlic here. Don't bother with the sides of Spanish rice and beans. They are typically boring and dry. Go ala carte whenever possible. - norm, 05/14/2010

Enjoy food prepared with the freshest ingredients available. Menu features authentic Mexican and vegetarian dishes such as BBQ chicken breast burritos, shrimp and avocado quesadillas, and asparagus and mushroom enchiladas. Wash it down with a shaken or blended margarita.

The inside decor in dark and gloomy and if you like the sound of a train passing then the extremely small outdoor sitting area is for you. For dinner, we had rice & beans, ground beef tostada and soft corn taco, chicken & a cheese/onion enchilada and shredded beef chimichanga. To start off with the chips and salsa are okay. The ground beef almost seemed undercooked and the rice and beans were left to be desired. On the good side the chimichangas and cheese/onion enchilada were good. What about the Margaritas??? Terrible to say the least. We ordered a regular strawberry and another from their specialty list. First and last time I would ever go to Hector's. - Dee, 08/08/2007
