Detail for Frank's Power Plant : Bar
[an error occurred while processing this directive]
Frank's Power Plant is a longstanding Bayview Milwaukee neighborhood tradition since its days as Chuck's. The decor is sexy pin up girl meets Harley meets "Old Man Bar". In fact there are a few bikes hanging on the walls for effect. Frank's has plenty of affordable drink specials, and their tap beer options are plentiful. Bar tenders are friendly and attentive, and there's free popcorn. I've been to Frank's a few times to see music and I guess that's where I see room for improvement. They have moved their uber-small stage to a better position in the backroom, but there still seems to be too much clutter with a piano against the wall (that never seems to get played) and too many tables and chairs. Not much attention seems to be given to the music, and when I was here recently the middle touring band took over a half hour to set up (a three piece) with nary a word from the sound gal.I've been here where it's incredibly crowded and nights where it's almost empty. A strong "regular" music clientele seems to be missing here. Frank's is best for your weekday shot-and-a-beer, or if your friend's band is playing. - norm, 04/29/2010
