Fanatics Sports Bar is located on the corner of Jefferson and Chicago in the Third Ward. It's in an unobtrusive brick building with no real outstanding features on the outside but it doesn't matter since it's the inside that's the main event. When I walked in the bar the first thing I noticed is it's very roomy with pool tables and large areas to gather. Behind the leather chairs are half-round booths that faced the 'tv wall'. Our group ordered hot wings with bleu cheese and celery, a plate of sliders - which was 4 mini cheeseburgers with sauteed onions and a side of french fries, a regular-sized cheeseburger, and artichoke dip with tortilla chips. It was all good, but when the artichoke and cheese dip came, it was a pretty big dish with what seemed like just a few tortilla chips on the side. The only negative thing is that they need to improve their sound system. They have speakers all over but I don't think they've mastered how to maximize them. Sometimes you could hear the tv announcers and sometimes you couldn't and when the bar announcements came on, there was alot of feedback coming through the system. - norm, 04/29/2010
