Club Charlies has a great atmosphere, delicious food, and super-friendly owners and staff. The atmosphere is refined but comfortable and welcoming - warm red walls and a fantastic mural of singing, dancing people on wall. The menu has lots of familiar favorites, but with unusual twists (like Irish Nachos), and the food is a step way up standard bar food. Try the Charlie burger, which is made with pork is extra yummy, and don't miss the fries. They also have steaks available. I have also been there during brunch but wasn't eating, but saw all sorts of delicious food going by including crepes stuffed with chicken and asparagus, corned beef hash, and biscuits with sausage gravy. I recommend the Bloody Marys, which are horseradishy and delicious and served with lots of garnishes. Not to miss if you are in the Third Ward. - norm, 04/29/2010
