In the 50's, while associated with the Ford Tractor operations in Memphis, Tennesse, I had several occasions to visit Detroit. On one such trip, I was introdued to the London Chop House. Of course, to me it was the most magnificent and totally unique restaurant I had ever been in. In later years, and it must have been shortly before the restaurant closed, my wife and I were visiting Detroit on a pleasure trip, and the one place I wanted to take her for our Saturday night dinner was the London Chop House. Needless to say, she was amaazed at the elegance of the restaurant, the elegant clientele, the service and,indeed,the dinner itself. Of course, we arrived around seven in the evening, and, being a Saturday night, were finally seated around nine-thirty, finishing our wonderful dinner around mid-night. We often re-live the evening and are so glad to see that it has re-opened. Perhaps we can be so fortunate to find our way there again in the near future for another memorable evening. - John, 08/25/2006
