Great food and beverages, name jazz, blues and reggae entertainment, a state-of-the-art children's art literacy area, and more than 120 of the country's top artists in the clay and glass mediums will be showcased as National City presents the 10th Annual Clay & Glass Festival and Taste of Royal Oak on Saturday, June 19 , 10am-7pm and Sunday, June 20, 11am-5pm. More than 40,000 art connoisseurs, jazz aficionados and fans of Downtown Royal Oak will attend the festival, which is expanded to include Washington Avenue, between Lincoln and Fourth Streets, and Fifth Street, between Washington to Center Street. A main stage with non-stop entertainment will be programmed to include one of the country's premier jazz-funk ensembles, and alumni of the Detroit International Jazz Festival (formerly Montreux), Grammy nominees Liquid Soul from Chicago. - wm, 05/22/2004
One of the top 200 art shows in the nation, visitors to the Clay & Glass Festival will be treated to culinary delights from Andiamo Osteria, bd's Mongolian Barbeque, Mr. B's Pub, Lily's Seafood Grill & Brewery, Monterrey, The Rock on Third, O'Toole's Tavern, Pronto! and Woody's Diner. A beer and wine area will also be added to the Entertainment District on Fifth Street, featuring Bud Light and Michelob Ultra, near the main stage. Fifth Avenue is the Entertainment Sponsor, and has helped to program a variety of name entertainers in the jazz, jazz/jam and reggae genres on the main stage at Fifth Street and Center.
