I went to The Shelter on Sunday with a few friends to see Kidney Theives, and Primer 55. Was my first time there and was thrilled! I had a great time.. I was right infront of the stage. 2 feet from the band.. it was exciting! Can't wait to go back again! - Washuu_ohki@yahoo.com, 07/23/2002
the shelter is my favorite place in detroit to see a show. it sounds awesome in there and there isn't much of a stage so you can be really close to the band. i'm going to see grade there in a couple of weeks and that's going to kick ass. intense, small, gritty, loud - the shelter rules. - electra_girl@hotmail.com, 04/17/2001
I've been here a few times to see Firewater, an amazing band. The venue is the basement of St Andrew's Hall and if there's a show upstairs it gets kind of shady as the floors(or celings of the Shelter) seem to shake more than they should. Other than that, the place is nice and small so you'll be close to the band unless your're at one of the tables behind the stage. It's been rumoredthey serve food but I wouldn't attempt to find out. It's a good place to see a band you like; maybe even meet them, but other than that it is rather typical. - dreinterests@hotmail.com, 07/25/1999
