Built as a weekend retreat for Dr. Edith Farnsworth, the Farnsworth House is the only residential house by Mies van der Rohe in the United States. It has been described as sensory, kinesthetic, and a spatial experience. Put up for sale in 3/2001, for $1.5 million ; current owner is Lord Polumbo of Britain.
