Located smack-dab in the sanctuary of Redeemer Church, this Friday-night coffeehouse grew out of the Lutheran church's desire to bring together its flood of new parishioners in their 20s and 30s in a social setting. Since its opening in late February of this year, it has attracted a steady clientele of believers and non-believers alike who enjoy good conversation, coffee, and acoustic music. Run by parish volunteers, suggested donations are $1 for regular coffee and $2 for espresso drinks. You can also sample sweets made by parishioners; all profits go back into the Cafe. Sanctuary Cafe is currently open on Fridays from 7:30 pm-11 pm, and it hopes to add hours as the 'caffeine buzz' increases. - Alotta, 03/03/2004
