What a service nightmare at the restaurant in Elgin! We went there Saturday night with a gift certificate and by the time we left the gift certificate was in shreds and we ate at another restaurant. We were told an hour to an hour and 15 when we walked in the door at 6:25pm for our party of two. By 7:50pm we had watched several groups of 3 and 4 come and go to be seated who had not waited nearly as long as we did. We approached the front desk and were told it would be about another 10 minutes. At 8:10pm after watching a group of 4 people waltz into the bar, sit down for 10 minutes and waltz right out again to be seated, we went back up to the front desk and were VERY rudely told, 'We said it would be an hour and half.' We contradicted the rude YOUNG man at the front desk and corrected him saying, 'no, we were told an hour to an hour-fifteen.' 'It has been an hour and forty-five minutes' He VERY rudely responded that he'd been telling everyone an hour and a half. We walked out. I am so tired of being treated like it's privilege to be THEIR customer as opposed to it being THEIR privilege for me to be their customer. What a joke that place is. We will never visit there again and I have found many opportunities in just two days to tell several people to never bother going there. Thanks much!!!! - msobeski1060@netzero.net, 03/03/2003
