This shuttered theater still displays its marquee, reminding onlookers of the many entertainment venues that once occupied the Bridgeport area. - Alotta, 10/01/2003

This is where my parents had thier first date. Finishing out the evening with a burger at Ramova Grill. This was back in the late 30's. My childhood was Sunday afternoon, getting 75 cents, going to the show, first stopping at the candy store next to the theater, and watching the movies sometimes twice! To lose this would be losing many memories for many people. And a great loss of memories to come. - Debbie, 11/29/2006

As a young boy growing up in Chicago in the 50's, the Ramova Theater was the most visited for movie entertainment. I and my friends would walk from 25th Place and 26th Street Emerald Ave. area to the theater for matinees on the weekends and during summer vacation. I remember when I turned to an age that allowed me to pay the full price for admission (I think that was 12 or 13 Years old), I told the ticket taker that I am an

adult now. She looked at me and said 'you don't look that old' and charged me the lower price anyway. It was kind of a blow to my young ego. However, I always will remember the fun we had going to the Ramova.

So many memories, like my mother putting a baby chair(supplied by the theater)in the middle isle to watch GONE WITH THE WIND.The war bond sales, pot&pans being sold. And lets not forget WAHOO every wed.I believe the last movie I seen was in the early eighties--POPEYE with Robin Williams.PLEASE SAVE ONE OF OUR LAST ENTERTAINMENT LAND MARKS. A magical experience. A starry sky. - Walter, 08/11/2002
