This is the only surviving building from the Columbian Exposition; note the photo which depicts the state of disrepair, during the early 1940s. - sys, 12/05/2001
I remember visiting the museum when I was a schoolboy in Chicago in the early '50s. I believe the Spirit of St. Louis was suspended from the ceiling as I recall. - John Sitting Bull, 01/03/1999
I remember an exhibit in the late 50's similiar to tissue slides, but on a much grander scale. A human was sliced and mounted between plexiglass so you could turn the plexiglas plates containing the human slice at about an inch and turn deeper into the body view the placement of the internal organs. I always remarked on it and never found
anyone else who had seen or even heard of such a thing. - Regina George Barber, 01/28/1999
