Once known as Cemetary Park, Lincoln Park is the largest of Chicago's parks at over 1100 acres. It was opened in the 1860's, and underwent several transformations over the years.
Illinois' only free zoo is located in Lincoln Park, along with a conservatory, Nature Museum, tennis courts, lagoons, ponds, and several statues, including Lincoln, LaSalle, Goethe, Shiller, and Grant.
Grant Park is bounded by Diversey on the north, and North Avenue at the south. - sys, 03/28/2003
