Detail for Auditorium Theatre : Theater
[an error occurred while processing this directive]
Designed by architects Dankmar Adler and Louis Sullivan, this historical landmark was constructed in 1889 and gained international acclaim for its aesthetics and acoustics. Closed at the beginning of World War II, this Chicago treasure was recently restored to its original splendor thanks largely to the Auditorium Theatre Council. - Alotta, 09/30/2003
What a gorgeous place. Such history. The acoustics. We need more shows here. I love it. - Caryn Vanko, 11/14/2001
I visited the Theatre auditorium on June 18. What I found was one of the most impressive buildings in Chicago as well as one of the most beautiful performance facilties anywhere. I sincerely hope that the City of Chicago, and the State of Illinois, find the resources to keep this building alive for many generations to come. - Mark David, 06/25/2001
