Open for lunch Mon - Fri, dinner served nightly. One of the first restaurants in the West Randolph strip, Vivo is still going strong. A straightforward menu features good prices for this area. Appetizers include polenta, carpaccio, antipasto, and several salads. Entrees include pasta dishes such as tomato and basil spaghetti to the more adventurous spinach and ricotta ravioli. A handful of veal and fish dishes available as daily specials, prepared to accent their natural flavorings. - sys, 09/02/2002

We stopped by Vivo on Saturday and were pleasantly surprised by its understated club vibe; we expected a more traditional Italian joint. Our entrees included the pork costolette (14 oz bone-in pork chop, $28) and the rigatoni alla buttera (with sausage and peas). For dessert it was the meranigue. Service was good at first .. but trailed off as the place got busier. Dinner with two and drinks will be about $100. - wm, 03/28/2011
