This teeny restaurant, located below street level, features less than ten tables and a small sushi bar. In addition to traditional sushi options, the menu lists intriguing starters such as sea scallops in soy-lemon butter. Open for lunch on Fri; dinner served Tues-Sun; closed Mon; no smoking. I can't say enough good things about Torajiro. My husband and I have eaten here so many times it's probably into the hundreds. The sushi chef, Peter, is extremely nice. The food couldn't be fresher or of higher quality, and the atmosphere is cozy and relaxed. The prices are very reasonable, and the 'following' is so strong that customers regularly send Peter postcards, which he displays on the walls. HIGHLY recommended. - Angie O, 12/30/2005

I have been to Torajiro many many times and can honestly say that it's my favorite casual, low-key sushi restaurant in all of Chicago.
