We stopped by Tavernita on a Friday, and as expected it was quite busy. After quickly being escorted through the eclectic/swanky dining area to our table, our server appeares within minutes, and our first drinks were ordered (Booty Collins). Small plates/sharing is the theme here, so we were able to try quite a few items .. including ceviche, mussels, hamachi, escalivada, green bean salad with anchovies, grilled octopus, corn pudding, pork belly bocadillos, and carne del dia. We could not resist ordering a few more drinks, these included Jay and Tay (with Bison Grass vodka), and Pisco Double Punch. Service/food/drinks were all top notch .. we will be back! Also - Esquire Magazine was on site - I'm sure they will give Tavernita rave reviews. Tavernita there is Barcito .. a bar with a different menu (small plates, Mexican inspired).
Tavernita is open Sunday-Tuesday: 5pm-11pm ; Wednesday and Thursday: 5pm-12am ; Friday and Saturday: 5pm-12:30am. Barcito is typically open a bit later. - wm, 04/14/2012
