just to clear every thing up, at this time there are only 2 authentic Taurus Flavors locations, 85th and Stony Island in Chicago and 147th and Avers in Midlothian. This is acording to the founder of Taurus Flavors, Mr. Edward Perkins. The location on 35th street has not been legit in over 10 years! I just hope they (the real Taurus Flavors) get a location when they rebuild Dixie Square in Harvey. - Me, 03/06/2006

The Taurus Flavors on 85th and Stony by far USED to be the best in the city. It may be owned by the Perkins Family but most certainly is not operated by the Perkins Family nor anyone that looks like them (wink). I have had much respect for Mr. Perkins and his plight within the community; however, i stress "IF YOU WANT SOMETHING DONE RIGHT YOU ARE BEST TO DO IT YOURSELF" or at least have someone with the same level of compassion as yourself run your business. - South Side Resident, 04/04/2009

I LOVE TAURUS FLAVORS SANDWICHES MY ORGANIZATION ORDERS FROM THE ONE ON STONEY ALL THE TIME. I'M CRAVING ONE RIGHT NOW THE FLAVORS ARE SO GOOD THE HOAGIE IS THE BEST I JUST LOVE IT WHATEVER THEY ARE DOING I HOPE THEY KEEP IT UP. To straighten out any confusion, all Taurus's are not owned by the same people. The Taurus located at 206 E.35th street, is by far the best Taurus Flavors in the state of Illinos. Wednesday and Fridays ,there are sales that benefit those with very lttle funds just tryng to get a meal. The people are friendly and the shop is clean. They were once located at 106 E. 35th . Taurus Flavors have other locations that are right in the city that just opened which is located on 71st & Michigan right next door to Rodneys's Sports Bar. It is open from 8 a.m. to 1 a.m. everyday. All Taurus Flavors are not the same they are franchised out to people within the restaurant business. They have excellent service and they also serve other other foods. They don't serve pork products. Give the Taurus Flavors on 71st and Michigan a try you wont be disappointed. - anonymous, 02/21/2004

You need to get out to Midlothian. That unique 'Flavor' of Taurus is definately there. Clean, neat place with excellent customer service and authentic original hoagys and supreme steaks. A real nice place to strike up a 'back in the day' conversation with the owners and other customers. Great variety of other stuff too. Got to try the Gourmet Popcorn and Cheesecake. Wow, I am totally turned off by your experiences at the Stony Island location. I'm really sorry to hear that, I used to go there all the time. If you're interested, I just found out about a new location that they have on 71st and Bennett. I don't think they've been open that long but the food is excellent and the service is quick and friendly. Sorry to hear about any bad experience at taurus! I have not had one. And the best thing is that they finally opened a store in the south suburbs!!!!! It is in Midlothian and it is the BOMB. It is clean and neat and the food is excellent. The people that work there are so nice and polite and I go there at least 3 times a week to get either a hoagy or a steak and they got some real good cheesecake over there.
