Walls of deep green, wood floors, and brass accents create an atmosphere of casual elegance for upscale steak dining. Traditional cuts of prime rib are around $30; seafood entrees are a little less expensive. Open daily from 11:30 am-11 pm; Wollensky's Grill open daily until 2 am; closed on Christmas. - Alotta, 06/13/2005
To the Chicago Smith and Wollensky management... My Wife and I were in Chicago last weekend to visit our son. We
are all Montrealers and have been extremely fortunate to have a tremendous number of excellent restaurants to choose from in our city. We had heard great things about Smith and Wollensky from some American Friends and decided to give it a try. We were there on Friday evening, August 17. My wife and I each had the cajun ribeye and my son had the sirloin. Evaluation: The steaks were large and definitely nobody could complain that they didn't get enough meat. However, I found the meat to be relatively tastless although very tender. The veggies that did not come with were also plentiful but nothing special in terms of preparation..Your own server, having dropped a piece of the brocoli off of the serving tray, assured us that he would bring us another 'tree' should we desire. Overall, I would rate the restaurant as being overpriced and I don't feel we received good value. If you are ever in Montreal, I would be pleased to take you as my guest to a truly fine steak house which I am certain
you will enjoy. - William McJannet, 08/26/2001
