We looked for Schmeissing's...it has apparently gone the way of too many bakeries in Chicago...replaced by a Gourmet Shop....oh well..... - rjmorganjr@earthlink.net, 08/12/2004

a classic Chicago-German bakery with all the old favorites: Edelweiss, seven sisters, beesting, and, of course, Swedish flop. Very good mince pie. One of few places with Hutzelbrot. Great paczkis on Shrove Tuesday. - david johnston, 11/16/2001
