Province is a newer upscale eatery just west of the train station. Menu features Ropa Vieja, chops, lamb, burgers, and seafood dishes. Nice outdoor patio on the north side of the storefront.

We had a great dinner tonight: we sampled three cocktails (including the Province martini with stuffed olives), had some appetizers (sashimi, pork roll) and enjoyed the half portion of two excellent entrees (slow cooked lamb, Ropa Vieja). Cost was about $120 with tip.

Ask to be seated in the back (east) room, as there is more room between tables. - wm, 07/14/2010

For our recent visit to Province, we made a reservation for Saturday at 7pm. Upon arrival, we were dismayed at the poor table choice, which was in the corner of the white room in back. We asked for a table change, but were offered the table by the bathrooms.

Our meal was great, although service was erratic. We started with the Sureau Sour and Federales mixers, followed by the shrimp ceviche and blue cheese fondue. Then, the mac-n-cheese (not very noteworthy) and the short



ribs, which were succulent. Dessert: the pumpkin cupcake, which was delicious. Price with tip was about $150. - wm, 03/06/2011
