Polo Cafe and Catering Bridgeport U.S.A. serves Mon-Fri 11am-3pm and Fri-Sat 5-9pm. Among the few select restaurants in the United States to offer exclusively CERTIFIED ANGUS BEEF(tm) the highest quality available, with standards even higher than the USDA choice and prime. As a licensee, they are required to adhere to the prescribed use of that name. Now offering unique banquet facilities in the Old Eagle Private Room which accommodates 50-250 guests (w/liquor license and dance floor/stage), in a renovated 1914 Lithuanian picture show. This is their 10th year with a booth in the TASTE of Chicago. - sys, 04/04/2001
Johnny Frigo (www.johnnyfrigo.com) will appear here in our Old Eagle Room Thursday November 13th and 20th 8-11PM with a $10 cover. This will concluded my attempt at SWING-JAZZ nights here since it has been a financial bust!! Thanks for listing this. - Dave S, 11/11/2003
This place is truly a Bridgeport oasis, and the locals know it. I hadn't been there for a few years, and after my friend and I stopped by for lunch yesterday, I vow that I will not wait that long
to eat there again. I had certified Angus beef stew for $7.95 that arrived chock full of meat and piping hot to the table. My friend opted for an Angus beef sandwich with mashed potatoes. Both were excellent. Though I am not a big mashed potato fan, I love the ones they make here--they're the real thing, with just a little seasoning and a few lumps here and there. These definitely weren't whipped up in the mixer! Don't be fooled by the modest storefront or the word Cafe in the name--this food is just as good, if not better, than any well-known downtown lunch spot. - Babs A. Rooney, 02/06/2003
Polo is an oasis in this historic, yet bustling, south side neighborhood. The food is phenominal, the treat for my taste buds range with their own home made aioli and bread to the grilled tuna prepared to order. The soft back ground music of Tony Bennet and Frank Sinatra adds to the retreat atmosphere. The staff treats you as a friend even though they see so many patrons a day. A native of the area, I would dine there occassionally, now a resident of Wisconsin I am still greeted by name when I dine there during my trips to Chicago. Treat yourself and a friend by making reservations at this casual elegant restuarant, the money spent will be well worth it!!! i encourage you to do as I do and come home to POLO! - denise Supinski, 09/23/2001
