Located just north of the City North 14 theater; this English gastropub is owned by the same team that brought us Willy's (down the street). We stopped by on a Thursday, around 7:30pm .. no chance of getting seated, even at the bar. Be sure to have a "plan b" (or reservation) when heading out to Owen and Engine. - wm, 12/31/2010

We stopped by Owen and Engine on a rainy Sunday night - luckily there were bars stools free. Great ambiance, and genuine English bartenders makes this gastropub a worthy destination. On tap: Saison Dupont, Rodenbach Grand Cru, ESB, Red Rye, Bell's, Farmhouse Ale, Blackjack, and 12 others. Menu items include the Ribeye, fish and chips, sea bass, and bangers/mash. We sample the burger (pictured) .. a secret blend of beef chuck and two other meats. No toppings needed. This could indeed be the best burger in Chicago. Expect to pay about $50 for dinner for two with drinks. Parking can be difficult, as this is by the movie theater right off of Western .. we'd recommend parking south



of the movie theater, by Mutiny, on Western. - wm, 03/06/2011
