Talk about fast! SWK, the swanky contemporary American joint, closed on May 26, but this Latin-flaired spot opened in its place on Friday. Jona Silva (ex-Savor and Chilpancingo) is offering a blend of Spanish and New World cuisine. BELOW average. Meztiso boasts that their table-side quacamole is to die for. I found that statement to be farther from the truth small portion, too many large chunks of avocado, we needed to add salt and we were not able to see the dip being made like at

Adobe. Instead, our view was blocked by a large cart with a big tip jar. The food is below average and definitely needed to be nuked a little bit warm. Highlights great sangria and nice bar area. - Nicole Y, 07/11/2005

There is a first for everything in 2006 and Meztiso Latin Bistro and Wine Bar (located at 710 N. Wells) proudly presents its first tequila dinner of the year with Chef Jona Silva and featuring El Diamante del Cielo Tequilas on Wednesday, January 25, 2006 at 7:30PM. The cost for the dinner is $35.00 per person, plus tax and gratuity, which includes a cocktail reception, a four-course dinner menu, and paired tequila cocktails with each course. Guests will enjoy cocktails made with El Diamante de Cielo Blanco, Anejo and Reposado Tequilas as Cielo's brand manger, Amy Jones, gives a brief presentation on the tequilas represented. Reservations are required for the dinner, and will be taken up until the day of the dinner, however space is limited. Please call Meztiso Latin Bistro and Wine Bar to make a reservation. - Julie F, 01/18/2006
