My friends and I have been coming to Maggiano's every December for many years. We were there last Sunday (12/7). The food and service was wonderful as usual. However, after having an after-dinner drink and chatting for approximately 20 minutes, we looked up to see a man standing at the end of our table just looking at
us, obviously letting us know that our 'alloted time' was up. We felt very uncomfortable and left. I felt this was quite rude and wanted to let you know. Earlier during dinner the same man had stopped by to see how everything was, which was fine. However, I don't feel you should rush people out. I had heard comments from other friends that they always felt 'rushed' while dining there, but had never felt that way before Sunday. Thanks for listening! - Nancy Feigel MFPDsec1@msn.com, 12/11/2003
I had the most embarassing experience of my life thaks to your incompetent and rude staff Your manager, who would not identify herself when she insulted and humiliated me, I later learned is named Patty. I wanted to treat my associate, a well-respected labor attorney, to a fine lunch. When I ordered the tilipia, I asked if I could substitue a vegetabe for the pasta. The waitress,( who if shown on my receipt correctly is Tara) said no. I explained that last time the waiter substitued asparagus. She replied:'If he really did, then I will do it too.' Did she think I was going to say I was just kidding about my previous experience? While we were in the midst of lunch, Patty, rudely interrupted to say that the chef insisted she find me and tell me that 'next time ther will be an 'up'charge' Quite frankly, I was too embarassed to ask her to define an'up'charge. i just lowered my eyes, agreed with her, and silently prayed she would cease her illmannered behavior. I ordered your lemon cookies for desert. When the bill was prensented to me, I noticed the chare for the cookies was omitted. I summoned the waitress and told her about it. Imagine my surprise when she said: 'Oh, they're complementary.' I refused and asked her to adjust my bill. Earlier I explained that I wanted to treat my associate, I did not anticipate the side-show your staff presented. Please respond by informing me of your method to ensure that neither Patty or Tara subject anyone else to such treatment. Thanks - C. Storto, 10/11/2002
One of the finest dining experiences of my life. Great atmosphere, great service, extraordinary food ! - Andrew, 08/26/2002
We visited your restaurant this weekend, my first visit ever. I had heard of your place frequently, but have avoided it (as I am not in to 'chain' restaurants). After begrudgingly agreeing to dine there, I must write to tell you of my experience. WHAT GREAT FOOD! Your fine establishment was not at all as I had imagined....the food was excellent, the service was great, and the atmosphere was wonderful as well. Thank you for making my most recent trip to your city a fine dining experience. I WILL BE BACK! - Diane, Neenah, WI, 03/17/2002
Maggiano's, by far, has the absolute best Italian food in Chicago. The prices are extremely fair as are the dish sizes. It is such a cozy enviroment ti dine. - Athena (Chicago), 12/17/2001
I RECENTLY VISITED CHICAGO FOR THE TASTE OF CHICAGO, BUT THE MAIN REASON FOR RETURNING WAS TO ENJOY THE FOOD AND ATMOSPHERE AT MAGGIANO'S. I ABSOLUTLY LOVE YOUR RESTAURANT!!!!! I LIVE IN CINCINNATI AND DON'T GET TO THE CITY MUCH (TWICE A YEAR) AND THE ONLY REASON I COME IS TO SHOP ON MICHIGAN AVE AND EAT AT MAGGIANO'S LITTLE ITALY.THANK YOU FOR GIVING ME PIECE OF ITALY! I recently visited an old college friend in Chicago. She desperately wanted to dine at Maggiano's for your excellent pasta. Our wait for a table became longer than expected. However, it was well worth the wait when the manager apologized for the delay and brought us a gorgeous piece of your chocolate cake that was 'to die for.' Thank you for making my evening in Chicago a wonderful memory. - Adrienne Merit, 06/02/2000
I only get to visit the city about 4 times a year, but everytime we do, it is a ritual of ours to eat at Maggiano's...The food incredible and the atmosphere is beyond words...A combination of the two makes this restaurant a 'must experience' attraction of Chicago. - Angela DeMarco, 01/05/2000
I visited Maggiano's recently and I want to thank you for such wonderful food and service. Chicago is one of my favorite cities, and my experience at your restaurant was nothing short of incredible. Thank you. - Gavin McKay, 05/18/1999
