Open daily for dinner. Be prepared to wait in close quarters during peak hours in this restaurant, heralded for its traditional cuisine and photos of famous people that adorn the walls. Recommended dishes on the La Scarola menu include the sausage and peppers dish, as well as the escarole sauteed with white beans. Very nice casual setting, friendly people. Place was packed even at 9:30 on a Sat. night. Escarole & sausage appetizer very good, shrimp and potatoes heavy for an appetizer but shrimp was good. Octopus apps only so-so. Would not recommeond the pasta and clams entre. Friend liked the veal chop with excellent rissoto. Brocoli and Penne very good. Reasonable prices.
