With it's cave-like atmosphere, Kildare Liquors & Restaurant (still often known to locals as "Nicks Steakhouse")has for many years been an establishment with tasty, good quality comfort food in the North Mayfair/Albany Park neighborhood. Nick serves an addictive garlic bread with huge chunks of garlic golden browned on a long roll, chicken soup with large chunks of chicken--unlike so many which require a microscope nowadays--, excellent slabs of ribs and tangy tuna sandwiches. Also, don't miss his saganaki and gyros. Saves you a trip to Greektown. He still has dart competitions and has recently redone the restaurant for a fresh look and added a pool table and modern jukebox, huge projection TV, plus a larger banquet room attached. The liquor store has food staples, candy, pop, and lottery
