My sister, brother and I are enamoured of Houston's--its dark paneling and no mobile phone rule, its smiling waitstaff who always seemed to go out of their way to help each other and its amazing food. When we all lived in Chicago, we brought our out-of-town guests to Houston's to cap the visits. Eventually, all three of us moved from Chicago but whenever we returned to Chicago, a trip to Houston's was always on the itinerary. Sadly, during our vist last week, we learned that Houston's has closed for good. Farewell to the most elegant 'casual' dining we've ever experienced. - Rpalileo, 08/24/2006
As of today (9/25/01) Houston's automatically charges every customer an 18% service charge. I normally tip 20% except for when service is bad (10%). The service was bad at Houston's today, but I was forced to 18%. I will never go back to Houston's. - RLS, 09/25/2002
I love your food. My mom is bringing me some of your tortia soup when she comes to visit me. It's the best! - Mrs. Daugherty, 12/11/2001
The walleye pike was delicious. Also liked the wine I had (a California white by Toasted Head). Busy bar for the wait, but servers/bartenders were attentive and efficient. - Ed Worden, 10/25/2001
My husband and I have traveled to many places around the world and have had the opportunity to ejoy many wonderful meals. However, I must express how much we truly enjoyed our experience this past Sunday. My husband had a chicken dish and loved the french fries! I had the Knife and Fork Ribs with Cole Slaw that was to die for!!! We ended our meal with the apple cobbler! A night and a meal to remember! We live in Northern California and will travel to Chicago in January. For sure, our fist stop will be to Houston's. Again, thank you for Houston's.-Traci Howard, 11/8/2000 - Traci Howard, 11/08/2000
I plan to dine with you again for the seventh time while I attend the Packexpo 2000! A night with Houston's is like being with an old friend! Food is excellent, service is outstanding! - F.E. Moore, 10/28/2000
