This is by far the best Chinese Restaurant in Chicago. I have been there regularly for over a decade, right after the Tribune Magazine wrote a good review. It has a big reputation for sea food, but the Mandarin Sechwan delights make this a sure thing. Chinese. Hospitable service and skillful cooking are the fortunes to be found in this comfortable Chinatown spot. The kitchen is at heart Cantonese but offers a variety of Chinese styles prepared with a deft hand. Cloud-light Shanghai steamed buns filled with well-seasoned minced pork and vegetables are well worth the 15-minute wait. Fat pot stickers and generous soups ('small' is enough for four) also make good starts. Crystal shrimp with vegetables in ginger sauce delights, as do whole braised walleye and Chengdu (Szechwan) mixed vegetables. Big set dinners are popular; call ahead to book the $108 seafood banquet for
