Not a positive visit to the Gale Street Inn in Chicago (Milwaukee ave) for me, my husband and our friend. The ribs were average. The Cobb salad had too much turkey. The menu did
not have a good variety of apetizers fo non- fish eaters. The only nice thing about this place was the staff and the decor. I do have an important complaint: The owner belittled a busboy right in front of customers and flirted with the hostess in an inapropriate manner! That's unaceptable behavior! I will NEVER visit the Gale Street Inn and I will let friends and family know why. - Julie, 09/27/2003
If you are looking for a good place to dinner let me tell you Gale Street Inn is the best restaurant I've ever been the service was great, the music but especially the ribs definitely the best. THis is a wonderful place to gather together with family,a group of friends or even for a date it has an extraordinary atmosphere. I highly recommended it. - Olivia, 12/20/2002
I have been taking clients here since my early days at TV GUIDE and I have had more requests to meet here for a buisness dinner from old clients than anywhere in Chicago. I honestly believe that the food and service here has helped close many
buisness deals. My clients that live in Chicago cannot believe that a salesman from St. Louis knows where the best ribs are located in Chicago. - Herbert Steck, 03/24/2001
Wonderful ribs best in town, have either the garlic mashed potatoes, or my favorite, the super cheesy augratin ones. Their blue cheese dressing is great, but they don't always have it on hand. And their oyster rockefeller is usually very good and tasty. You can sit in the restaurant part, of one of the few booths in the bar. The bar is cool for people watching, or watching TV while you eat, but people on cells phones after work on weekdays can be a tad annoying. - Chris, 03/01/2001
great ribs and also great marlin special. also super mashed potatoes. but the server was distracted and the bathrooms were nasty. - dan m., 10/16/2000
The Gale Street Inn in Chicago should not be confused with the one on Diamond Lake Rd in Mundelein. The Chicago restaurant is superior in food freshness and quality. The other one has become second rate in service staff, food quality and cleanliness. Stick with the ribs in Chicago. - R.A.H., 10/13/2000
Really fantastic ribs - meaty, TENDER, and good sauce. We stopped trying the ribs at other restaurants because they could never compare to those at Gale Street. - anonymous, 08/07/2000
