Situated in the former Sorriso location, Flatwater plays on its location on a wake-free zone of the Chicago River. Diners can sit inside or, in warmer months, on the rooftop terrace or on a patio alongside the water. American/global/contemporary cuisine include hot dog and beer flights, king pao chicken quesadillas, personal pizzas, and interesting wraps. During our visit, our table of 15+ had a great time. Service was excellent, and the quality of food was superb. Oddly enough, one of the best things on the menu is the trio of tacos ($13) .. which combines pork and pineapple! Saturday night my friends and I decided to check out Flatwater. We all paid $10 each to get in the door only to find out the patio was closed, the service was shitty, and the atmosphere was dreadful. It was so hot in the place I could barely breath and the floor was



wet from something disgusting and smelly. There were also way too many people crowed in such a tight space. I'm sure many laws were being violated. We left after 5 minutes and tried to get our money back but the doorman, Chris, and "head of security," Kevin, would not refund our money. Good luck trying to get a hold of the GM, Rakesh, to file a complaint. He's made sure that he is unavailable in unpleasent situations. His extention even hangs up on you claiming an "error." - Ripped off, 08/16/2007
