This cozy American-Italian restaurant draws a diverse crowd and makes diners feel comfortable whether they're dressed casually or for a night on the town. Just as important as the food, a stage with a piano up front features popular Chicago cabaret singers every night of the week. Menu items feature a touch of French and Mexican influences, and include dishes such as pork chops and salmon amandine served atop an asparagus frittata. Patio seating is available in warmer months. This place is cute and the food is good. The only thing that bothered me was that I tried to substitute spaghetti squash for sweet potatoes that came with the steak. I figured it would be no big deal because they are both listed on the side order list for the same price. No substitutions allowed, but we will give you a side dish and charge you extra. They don't substitute because of the combination of flavors. Give me a break. They had an interesting dessert on the menu, cayenne brownie sundae. I tasted



a bit of this and it was kind of interesting. Chocolate at first, a little kick at the end. Not bad. I had the Chianti, I've had better. I'd say overall, its ok but pretentious. - Paula Mitchell, 10/16/2004
