Open for lunch Mon - Sat 11:30 am - 2:30 pm; dinner served Mon - Thurs 5 pm - 10 pm, Fri - Sat 5 pm - 11 pm; Sunday brunch 11 am - 3 pm. This upscale Mexican restaurant features specialties from the 31 states of Mexico. Menu changes every two weeks, and may include items such as roasted duck breast smothered in a fruit and chili pepper sauce with a garnish that includes pineapple chunks, fried plantain and mashed sweet potatoes. - sys, 10/17/2002
Regional Mexican cuisine is on the menu at this elegant restaurant, decorated with bright paper cutouts and Mexican paintings. Complimentary creamy guacamole with cucumber and jicama is a refreshing starter; another appetizer is sopes surtidos, four corn masa boats, each filled to the brim with a different filling. Entrees are beautifully presented and boast a taste to match: mole-covered ostrich, and roasted rack of lamb atop smashed potatoes and topped with Oaxacan black mole to name a couple. Open for lunch Mon-Sat, dinner served nightly, Sun brunch. - Alotta, 09/20/2005
I don't like Mexican food, but I
hands down LOVE the menu at Chilpancingo. They have a mole dish that brought me to my knees! The guacamole was so fresh I felt like I was hand picking ripe avacados from a fresh California field while dressed in a Mexican serapa. If you don't visit this place, you're wasting your time on earth. - Erika W, 06/23/2005
WOW!!! It was amazing! The nopales al mojo de ajo de lujo blew me away! In a prime location, Chilpancingo has an atmosphere all its own. Thumbs up!!! - Jill G, 06/23/2005
This River North restaurant is one top notch place to go and have a great dinner or lunch. Chilpancingo's food is prepared with original presentations, it's delicious and the service is top rate. Try their Sunday brunch, it's even better! I recommend El Corazon(silver and gold) tequila. Now, if you don't want a full meal, Chilpancingo has a bar for you to hang out at, have a few drinks and snacks, and enjoy the bountiful art that adorns the restaurant. (the prices are reasonable)I highly recommend this restaurant! - Andrew, 02/22/2001
